Website terms
Clarity before commitment.
Last updated: October 5, 2026.
A signed agreement or transaction-specific term controls where it is more specific.
Informational use
Website content, diagnostics, calculators, articles, and training resources provide general business education and illustrative analysis. They are not legal, tax, accounting, insurance, investment, medical, or financial advice.
No outcome guarantee
Illustrative calculations, examples, training, systems, assessments, and recommendations do not promise a particular amount of revenue, profit, close rate, hiring result, or other business outcome. Results depend on many factors outside Northstar's control.
Diagnostic tools and Compass samples
The Signal Check is a directional self-reflection tool, not a validated psychological, employment, financial, or legal assessment. The Napkin Math calculator uses only the numbers you enter and produces an illustrative scenario, not a forecast. The Owner Load Check uses the time and stress information you enter as a directional business reflection. It is not a medical, psychological, employment, financial, or legal assessment. The Modernization Check reads only what you report. It isn't an audit, a security review, or a promise that automating a step is the right move for your company. The Front Door Check does its arithmetic on the trade, numbers, and answers you enter. Its low case figure isn't a forecast, a promise, or a quote.
The public Salesmanship and Leadership Compass samples are limited developmental demonstrations. They are not the full proprietary instruments, do not produce validated scores, and must not be used for hiring, firing, promotion, compensation, discipline, clinical decisions, or predictions of future performance.
Professional engagements
Professional work begins only under the applicable agreed scope and payment requirements. Scope, cadence, travel, cancellation, intellectual property, confidentiality, billing, termination, and any specific remedy are controlled by the signed agreement or statement of work.
72-Hour Constraint Sprint
The Constraint Sprint is a bounded $995 professional engagement, paid before work begins. The seventy-two-hour delivery clock begins only after payment clears, Northstar receives the required access, and the owner makes any decision the first correction depends on. The Sprint puts the agreed first correction to work and includes one seven-day results review. It does not promise that the entire constraint will be eliminated within seventy-two hours or guarantee a business outcome.
Software, subscriptions, staffing, media, materials, and other third-party products or services are separate unless the written Sprint scope explicitly includes them. Northstar will not purchase or activate a separate cost without the client's approval.
The $995 Sprint fee stands on its own. No part of it credits toward any other Northstar engagement. The transaction-specific Sprint scope and payment terms control if they are more specific.
Websites We Build
Northstar builds websites for service businesses. You ask for yours through Build Mine on the Websites We Build page. Asking is free. No payment is taken to request a build, and a request doesn't commit you to buy.
A request doesn't commit Northstar either. When the build queue is full, the form says so and the request isn't accepted. Northstar may also decline a request.
When your request is accepted, Northstar researches your business and builds the first version of your site, using your branding, your services, your market, and verified business information, along with what you send in the request. When it's ready, you get a private link to it. Then Northstar contacts you to go over it with you: how you like it, and any changes you'd like made before you take delivery. You can also request a change or ask a question from your private page.
The first version is built before you pay anything. If you decide you don't want it, you don't buy it, and you owe nothing. The Privacy page says what Northstar stores when you request a build, open a preview, or buy.
Website price and billing
You pay only if you decide to launch. For the first 10 clients, the price is $499 to launch, then $99 a month for managed website care. A place among the first 10 is taken by a paid purchase. A request or a preview doesn't hold one. After those 10 places are taken, the price is the one shown on the Websites We Build page and on your private page when you buy.
The launch fee is charged once, at checkout. The first monthly charge comes 30 days after the launch payment, then monthly after that. That date is set by your payment, not by your launch call or the day your site goes live, and your private page shows it after you buy. Checkout runs on Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to Northstar, and Stripe keeps the card on file for the monthly charge.
The price and terms shown on your private page when you pay govern your purchase, and Northstar records the version of those terms with your order. Where they're more specific than this page, they control.
Each Northstar engagement carries its own fee. Nothing paid for one engagement credits toward another.
Monthly website care
The monthly fee covers hosting on Northstar's managed platform, with no separate hosting bill. It covers keeping your site's SSL security certificate valid and renewed, keeping the software your site runs on patched and current, and keeping every published version of your site so any change can be rolled back. Northstar watches that your site is up. If it goes down, Northstar is alerted and acts on it.
It covers up to 5 small changes a month, such as a new photo, updated hours or prices, a changed service description, or a new review. Each one is done within 2 business days of your request. Unused changes don't roll over. If anything on your site is wrong, Northstar corrects it, and corrections don't count toward your 5 small changes.
It also covers keeping your contact form working and delivering to the inbox you choose, simple visitor numbers for your site whenever you ask for them, handling the settings that point your domain at your site, help keeping your domain renewed, and a reply from Northstar on business days, by email or at 812-645-1108.
Not included: redesigns or a new layout; new pages, each quoted before any work starts; new features, such as online booking, payments or a customer login; integrations with other software, such as a CRM, scheduling or a store; rebrands, meaning a new name, logo or colors; writing large amounts of new content; paid advertising, professional photography or video; and domain registration fees, which you pay to your registrar. Anything outside the monthly care is quoted separately before any work starts, and you decide whether to go ahead.
Website cancellation and ownership
Website care runs month to month. You can cancel any time before your next billing date. There's no long-term contract and no cancellation fee. If you cancel, hosting and care continue to the end of the month you've paid for, then hosting stops. On request, Northstar hands your site over as a static export you can host anywhere.
You keep your domain, your content, your photos and media, and your brand. Your domain stays in your name throughout. Northstar keeps its own frameworks, software and tools. Photographs, fonts, software or other materials licensed from a third party stay under their own licenses. Ending the monthly service doesn't take away your right to keep using your company's website and the assets that transfer with it.
Launching your website
After you buy, a short call verifies your business details with you, covers needed corrections, and handles what your site needs for launch. A short form asks for the domain you want your site on, who you bought the domain from if you know, the phone and email to show on your site, and where the contact form should send messages. It also has a place to tell Northstar anything on the site that's wrong. Your site launches on your own domain.
The form asks you to confirm that the photographs of your own work, trucks and people on your site are yours to use.
Don't send passwords. Northstar doesn't need one to launch your site and won't ask for one. The form turns away anything that looks like one.
No promised website results
Northstar builds each site for people and for AI agents. A website doesn't guarantee calls, leads, sales, or search rankings, and Northstar doesn't promise that any search engine or AI agent will recommend your business. Those results depend on many factors outside Northstar's control.

Third-party services
Links or routes to email, phone, messaging, scheduling, payment, client systems, or other providers may be governed by the provider's own terms and privacy practices. Today the website itself uses Cloudflare for hosting, its database, page-view analytics, and the check that a person is there; Resend to deliver email; Stripe to take payments; and OpenAI's API for the replies of Nora, the A.I. Concierge. The Privacy page describes how each is used.
